Lighting Matters!
This video is a tour of how lighting can appear different depending on where you are in a room.
Facing a window with natural light vs. turning away from the light and being in shadow.
Being in darkness (shadows) can make lines and creases on your face show more.
Being well lit with natural sunshine can make you look more delighted.
We encourage you to set up your lighting for interviews in light that makes you look delighted and not fearful.

Hey, I wanted to give you a little tour showing you while I'm standing in the same position how very, very different lighting can make you appear. So, I'm standing in front of a window. I've got my window Shiny Bright natural light on me right now. I think it looks okay. Now I just want to show you, I'm going to turn, and see the light? Turning and then the darkness comes. As I turn all the creases and the happy lines that show how much life I've lived come out, it's not necessarily that appealing

to be in the dark. Now I turn, there comes some natural light again and we're back in the sunshine that makes us look delighted to be here. So, I just want to encourage you as you're setting up your space to take your interviews, your job interviews, to set up your new meetings, whatever it is, set up in some light that makes you look delighted and not fearful. Good luck!
